Mogi Location-based Game Creator Mathieu Castelli Joins Resolution Games as Chief Creative Officer
STOCKHOLM, June 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Resolution Games, the Stockholm-based VR and AR games studio behind the hit games Bait! and Wonderglade, welcomed Mathieu Castelli to its leadership team as chief creative officer (CCO). Mathieu brings an expertise in augmented reality, location-based mobile gaming, Google Maps API and data analytics to Resolution Games. He is best known for creating Mogi -- the first location-based community game that pioneered the collect-hunt-trade game genre based on map data.
Mathieu has been an innovator and thought leader in the games space for more than two decades. Most recently, he served as the CEO of C4M, a Montreal-based mobile games studio where he led the making of Battleplans and facilitated a co-publishing deal with Bluehole. Prior to C4M, he served as the VP of business development for Mobivillage and was the CEO for NEWT Games (creators of Mogi), which was acquired by For-Side.
Additionally, the company recruited the well-known art guru and former Mojang artist Henrik Pettersson (known by the online pseudonym "Carnalizer") as art director at Resolution Games.
"We're excited to grow our leadership team. Mathieu's expertise in location-based games and Henrik's artist abilities are unparalleled. We look forward to having their help in steering the company into its next chapter of VR and AR games," said Tommy Palm, CEO of Resolution Games. "We also couldn't be happier to expand our advisory board with Joe and Andras. Both will be invaluable as we head into our next growth stages and set our sites on the evolving visual computing market."
Resolution Games also announced the addition of highly prominent industry veterans Andras Vajlok and Joe Kraus to its advisory board. Andras, currently an independent investor and advisor, is the former CFO of Paradox Interactive, where he led the company to its highly successful IPO and eventual $2.5 billion valuation. Joe Kraus is a general partner at GV and a two-time entrepreneur, having founded Excite.com and JotSpot.
The growth of the leadership and advisory board teams follows the studio's recent milestones of expanding to 35 team members, initiating development of its first AR game Bait! Under the Surface, and launching its hit titles Bait! and Wonderglade for Lenovo Mirage Solo and Oculus Go. To learn more about Resolution Games visit www.resolutiongames.com.
