The king of Spain experienced the large-scale multi-person interactive VR experience based on 5G(March 07, 2018)
The annual event, Mobile World Congress, has taken place in Barcelona, Spain from the 26th February to the 1st March 2018. Each year MWC allows us to witness the latest technologies and trends in telecommunication field such as 5G network, LAA, NFV, which inspires the future developments for professionals. Virtual Reality is also one of the most striking demonstrations. Realisís interactive VR solution was chosen by Huawei and Iwin to present low-latency VR experience with the 5G network on Telefoniaís booth.
The King of Spain experience Realis's large-scale untethered VR application at MWC
Large-scale untetered VR solution and the floating ball
Realisís free-roaming untethered VR solution, which is based on optical motion capture, has achieved almost the same result as tethered solutions: zero latency in the virtual experience: the globe in the VR is synchronized with the floating ball in reality. Players wearing VR headset had to catch the ball according to what they see in the virtual environment.
The seemingly easy task has the highest requirements about the accuracy and the latency of the motion capture system. The trajectory of each object is realized by optimized algorithms. Itís proven that 5G network is able to satisfy the needs of low latency and high quality rendering in a multi-person interactive VR environment. Thanks to Realisís innovation, its motion capture technology has not only won the approval of the visitors and media but also attracted the king of Spain to experience the demonstration.
According to professionalís analysis, 5G network technology getting mature and gaining ground, allows VR devices to get rid off the tethers and VR experience to be closer to the reality.† As a pioneer in large-scale multi-person VR technology in China, Realis is bringing about buffets to European market with its self-developed technologies. Within 3 months, this start-up has sold its products to South Korea, the UK, Singapore, Spain and Australia.
5G generation is going to allow more and more people to experience the virtual reality.† Thereís no doubt that multi-person interaction, free-roaming VR in large scale will be the tendency.Media Contact
